What lenses do not work with the 300D?
Other than the obvious answers (Nikon/Sigma/Minolta/Pentax mounts), any Canon EOS (EF and EF-S) mount lens *should* work. However, there are some that have shown not to work, and this question will serve as a container for this information.

Sigma 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 Compact Hyperzoom Aspherical.

It works fine when wide-open aperture is specified, but if you (or the camera) sets any other aperture, the camera will issue Error 99 and not save the picture. This lens has really soft images on the 300D at wide-open apertures. Sigma reportedly can re-chip the lens to make it work with the 10D and 300D.

According to the Sigma Germany website the following lenses if manufactured before 2001 may need to be sent in to be updated to be used with cameras such as the Canon 10D and 300D:

Sigma 50mm f/2.8 Macro

This lens does not work with the camera except at wide-open aperture. Sigma Customer Service says that the non-EX version of this lens cannot be re-chipped.
