(Answer) (Category) Digital Photography FAQ's : (Category) Canon EOS-300D / Digital Rebel / KISS Digital FAQ : (Category) Power System :
What kind of batteries does the EOS-300D take?
The EOS-300D is designed to take the Canon BP-511 and the BP-512 interchangably. It has the capacity to hold one of these batteries, but coupled with the BG-E1 grip, it can hold two of these batteries for extended shooting.

Canon has stated that the BP-511 will push 600 pictures without flash and about 400 pictures using the internal flash 50% of the time. It should also be noted that using an IS (Image Stabilization) lens will cost about 30% of your battery life.
