According to the Fuji manual, the flash must be triggered by the camera and the aperture and ISO must be set manually. The trigger voltage of the flash unit should be low to be safe, but the Fuji manual never explicitly state what is acceptable. Some people say below 24V, while others say 400V. The lower, the better is the general rule. Fuji UK reports 5-15V, yet the Fuji S602Z Pro manual states 400V. The Vivitar 283, Sunpak 383 Super, Sunpak 144 PC Auto, Metz 32Z, and Nikon Speedlight SB-24 (in non-TTL mode) are commonly used with the S602Z. One recommendation is to set a custom white balance when using external flash. http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html lists quite a few manufacturers of flashes with their trigger voltages. Remember: the lower, the safer!
